I said a Prayer for you Today,
And know God must have heard,
I felt the answer in my heart,
Although He spoke no word.
I didn't ask for wealth or fame,
I knew you wouldn't mind,
I asked Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that He'd be near you,
At the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings,
And friends to share your way.
I asked for happiness for you,
In all things great and small,
But it was for His loving care,
I prayed for, most of all.

AUTUMN by John Clare
I make no excuse for copying this poem down complete, it is one of my favourites and brings back a lot of happy memories.
AUTUMN by John Clare
I love the fitful gust that shakes
The casement all the day,
And from the glossy elm tree takes
The faded leaves away,
Twirling them by the window pane
With thousand others down the lane.
I love to see the shaking twig
Dance till shut of eve,
The sparrow on the cottage rig,
Whose chirp would make believe
That Spring was just now flitting by
In Summer's lap with flowers to lie.
I love to see the cottage smoke
Curl upwards through the trees;
The pigeons nestled round the cote
On November days like these;
The cock upon the dunghill crowing,
The mill sails on the heath a-going
John Clare (1793 to 1864) was an English poet from rural Northamptonshire, and is now regarded as the most important English poet of the natural world.

A very Special One
There is a pain that's burning
For you've lost your precious one.
And you will wonder how you'll cope
Through days and nights to come.
Believe there is an answer,
And it lies within your heart,
For that is where he/she is now,
And you'll never be apart.
In time, with help from those around,
The pain will soon become
A glow of happy memories,
Of your very special one.
For you've lost your precious one.
And you will wonder how you'll cope
Through days and nights to come.
Believe there is an answer,
And it lies within your heart,
For that is where he/she is now,
And you'll never be apart.
In time, with help from those around,
The pain will soon become
A glow of happy memories,
Of your very special one.

Dust if you must ......
Remember...a layer of dust protects the Wood beneath it.
'A house becomes a home when you can write 'I love you' on the furniture.'
I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just
Perfect - 'in case someone came over'
Finally I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and
Having fun!
NOW, when people visit, I don't have to explain the 'condition' of my home .
They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I
Was away living life and having fun.
If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.
Life is short. Enjoy it!
Dust if you must ........
But wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter,
Bake cookies or a cake and lick the spoon or plant a seed,
Ponder the difference between want and need?!
Dust if you must, but there's not much time . . . .
With wine to drink , rivers to swim and mountains to climb ,
Music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must,
But the world's out there with the sun in your eyes,
The wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain.
This day will not come around, again.
Dust if you must ,
But bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. . .
And when you go - and go you must - you, yourself will make more dust!

If tomorrow starts without me ......
If tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above ,
And that I'd have to leave behind
all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible,
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all that we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss some tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said, 'This is eternity,
And all I've promised you.'
Today your life on earth is past,
but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
and since each day is the same way,
There's no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart '
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
